| In a city of 26 million people, this is a quiet day at the store. |
Monday mornings seem to be a relatively 'quiet' time to grocery shop. On this day, I wandered slowly up and down each aisle, assessing what I could do outside of the import section. The import section is helpful, and many things that I would buy are available there...at a price, but I'm hoping to make my way in the general populace of the main store as well.
What I noticed is that cooking sauces are not readily available. Ramen is as important to the locals as we would imagine. Dried food is HUGE...two whole aisles!

| I know roses are edible, but snack food? |
 |
| Duck Jerky? |
Nothing is wasted, and people will eat anything.
 |
| I think this is frogs in shrink-wrap. On second thought, this might be a small rodent or something... |
Buying live food is common.
 |
| I guess it's fresher this way |
 |
| Bag it and be on your way. |
Touching raw meats isn't an issue
 |
| There are several ways to prepare Tofu! |
BTW, how many different ways are there to make soy sauce?...because there's a whole aisle dedicated to that too!
I do not aim to make fun of a culture that is different than mine. It's just different, as mine would likewise be perceived by others.
