The main purpose of our zoo trip was to prepare the kids for a research project. Although they were doing a mammal unit, they could choose any animal and put together a presentation booth where we, parents and other students, could ask questions and learn about their knowledge of the animal.
Abigail chose the Diamond Back Rattlesnake. sigh
She worked really hard, as did all of the kids, to know about her animal...snakes...what they eat, where they live, how their babies are born, how long they live, etc.
Then the visitors arrived. She was very animated, sharing her knowledge...
