I have heard that many of my readers enjoy a little prose while some of you prefer a just-the-facts approach. Without a doubt, though, you all seem to want pictures!
On occasion, I have taken my camera on a walkabout to see what I can find. Admittedly, I live in "Americatown" (as I have penned it), so cultural anomalies are fewer to be found. I always have my iPhone with me, and hopefully I can stealthily ready it to capture the moment that makes me have a second look.
There is a human element that I long to capture, but I am too conscious of offending to take the photo. I asked a beautiful old woman wearing a straw hat last week if I could take her picture. I pointed at the camera then at her and she was all smiles, until I raised it to my face. David says I need to stand on the other side of the road with a big lens...just not there yet. For now, here is a small collection. Oftentimes, the moment is gone before I have a camera in my hand, but enjoy!
